The Delhi-Jaipur Super Expressway (also known as the NH-352B) is a proposed superhighway by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which will connect Gurgaon (Haryana) with Chandwaji (Rajasthan), according to media reports.
The 195.1 km long greenfield expressway is expected to reduce the distance between the two cities by around 40 km and the travel time by around 2-3 hours. At present, the distance between Delhi and Jaipur is 235 km. The super expressway will cover around 423 villages and seven districts, including Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Rewari, Mahendergarh, Alwar, Sikar and Jaipur.

The Delhi-Jaipur expressway will branch out from NH-48, the section of the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, near Kherki Daula Toll Plaza and connect with Chandwaji in the Jaipur district. It will comprise six lanes and cover nearly seven districts.

The construction work on the Delhi Jaipur expressway has commenced and the NHAI has started the land acquisition process. The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 6,530 crore. Since the major part of the land required for the project is privately owned, the cost of rehabilitation and resettlement is around Rs 5,000 crore. This corridor is expected to be opened in 2027.
The Delhi-Jaipur Highway or the NH-48 is a 242-km-long, eight-lane highway, which connects Delhi and Jaipur. The route starts from Kherki Toll Plaza in Gurgaon and ends near Daulatpura Toll Plaza in Jaipur. The highway covers several Industrial Model Townships (IMT) in Haryana and Rajasthan. The road was widened in 2007 as a National Highway passing over 400 villages of 11 tehsils across Haryana and Rajasthan.
In 2024, the NHAI revamped the majority of the Delhi-Jaipur Highway route. A TOI cited a senior NHAI official stating that a road had been recarpeted on both sides of the 155-km stretch from Jaipur to the Shahjahanpur border.
On February 12, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first stretch of the 1,380-km Delhi-Mumbai Expressway from Sohna (Haryana) to Dausa (Rajasthan). It is an eight-lane access-controlled expressway, expandable to 12 lanes.
The 246-km section will reduce travel time from Delhi to Jaipur to just 3 hours from the current 5 hours. Developed at the cost of over Rs 12,150 crore, the section will be directly linked with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway from DND Flyway to Jaitpur, from Jaitpur to Ballabhgarh and from Ballabhgarh to Sohna. The section will serve as an alternative route to the Delhi-Jaipur highway.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that electric bus service will be started by laying electric cable on the Delhi-Mumbai Express National Highway. The distance from Delhi to Jaipur will be covered in two hours, and its fare will be 30% less than that of a diesel bus. He said that the government plans to construct a 67-kilometre four-lane expressway from Bandikui to Jaipur for Rs 1,370 crore. The project is expected to be completed by November 2024.
Gadkari further said the Delhi-Mumbai Express highway is the first in Asia and the second in the world on which we have built an animal overpass so that animals do not have to cross the road. He expressed satisfaction with the government’s efforts to make Rajasthan roads at par with international standards.
The Delhi-Jaipur Super expressway will start from the Kherki Dhaula Toll Plaza located on the Dwarka Expressway in New Gurgaon. The Dwarka Expressway is an eight-lane expressway spanning 27.6 km that will provide connectivity between Delhi and Gurgaon. The upcoming Delhi-Jaipur Super Expressway, which will start from the Kherki Dhaula end of the Dwarka Expressway, will enable easy accessibility to Delhi and reduce traffic congestion.
The Delhi-Jaipur Super Expressway is expected to significantly reduce the distance between the two cities. Further, the upcoming infrastructure project will steer real estate developments along the corridor and boost economic activities. As more and more people move to these localities owing to the growth in employment opportunities, it will lead to an increased demand for properties, both residential and commercial spaces.
